About This Role
Are you skilled at telling compelling stories and securing funding for causes you believe in? The Stoic Fellowship is looking for a volunteer Grant Writer to identify, draft, and submit proposals that help fund our global initiatives. Your work will support the sustainability and growth of Stoic communities around the world by connecting our mission with aligned funders and institutions.
This role is perfect for someone with a knack for research, persuasive writing, and translating values into proposals that resonate with philanthropic partners.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify grant opportunities, partnerships, or funding sources aligned with TSF’s mission
- Write compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with TSF volunteers to gather required information and develop project narratives
- Maintain a calendar of application deadlines and reporting requirements
- Track the status of submitted grants and help follow up with funders as needed
- Help shape our long-term grant strategy and organizational storytelling
- Uphold Stoic virtues—especially wisdom, justice, and courage—in the pursuit of ethical fundraising
Ideal Qualities
- Passion for Stoicism and a commitment to community development and service
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
- Experience in grant writing, nonprofit fundraising, or academic/professional writing (preferred but not required)
- Research skills and the ability to synthesize information into persuasive proposals
- Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a remote team
Time Commitment
This is a flexible volunteer role. We ask for a commitment of 5-10 hours per month, though this may vary depending on active grant cycles or proposal deadlines. Great for someone looking to contribute behind the scenes with high-impact work.
